Jeff Bezos, Jamie Dimon, and Mark Zuckerberg have sold stock worth about $9 billion. They might think markets can't go much higher.-Theron MohamedAmazon'sJeff Bezos, JPMorgan's Jamie Dimon, and Meta'sMark Zuckerberghave all sold big chunks of shares in their own companies. How come?Bezos is way out in front afteroffloading50 million shares of Amazon in just nine trading days this month, pocketing an estimated $8.5 billion.Zuckerbergcashed inalmost 1.8 million shares of his social-media empire for more than $400 million in the last two months of 2023.JPMorgan's Dimon joined the club this month, jettisoningabout 822,000 shares of the bank he leads for about $150 million. The sales are striking for several reasons. Dimon's disposals represent his first sales of JPMorgan stock in his 18 years as CEO.Zuckerberg hadn't sold Meta shares for almost two years prior to his latest transactions. Bezos has gone from sellingless than $3 billionof stock annually prior to 2019, tomore than $3 billion in four daysin early 2020, and now close to triple that figure in nine days.#business #stocks #newyorkiptvhttps://lnkd.in/gcVK9qta

Jeff Bezos, Zuckerberg and Jamie Dimon selling stock, is the market overheated? Here's a snapshot of the top stock sales recently:↳ Bezos sold 50mn shares for approx $8.5bn↳ Zuckerberg cashed in $600mn selling 1.8mn shares↳ Jamie Dimon sold 822k shares for $150mnHere's how the stock price of each moved over 1 year:↳ J.P. Morgan stock increased 30% ↳ Amazon stock increased 90% ↳ Meta stock increased 186%But hey isn't this insider trading? They know when to sell:Well, no.Most sales are made according to 10b5-1 trading plan. What does that mean?Trading plans are created well in advance so that shares are sold at a specific date or at a specific price. This gives a defense against potential insider trading. But why are they selling? Could be many reasons:↳ Maybe they want to diversify their portfolio↳ They think the stock has run up a lot↳ Have a large tax bill coming up↳ Maybe buy a new yacht 😀 Who knows. But what do you think? Have the markets and these stocks peaked?P.S. Fun fact: Bezos recently decided to relocate to Miami, Florida from Seattle, Washington. Why? Since Florida doesn't have a capital gains tax but Washington introduced a 7% tax in 2022.So by moving he will save $288mn just in taxes 😁 Follow me (Ritesh Sabharwal CFP®) as I Simplify Personal Finance and Investing

Does Jeff Bezo Stock Sale Represent a Peak As Tech Exit Visa Prove True in 2021 NASDAQ SellOffAI mania has caused stock prices to diverge from underlying fundamentals and presents an opportunity to sell as was the case in 2021 with Fed Pivot on share buybacks and the tech capture. Bezo and other tech billionaires signal a major stock sell off coming down the pike 2021. Although there could other reasons for the 2 billion dollar of Amazon stock sale. Jeff Bezo has moved to Florida which has no state income tax or a tax on capital gains. So on the $2 billion sale last week, he saved $140 million that he would have paid to Washington state. On the entire sale of 50 million shares over the next year, he will save at least $610 million. And that’s assuming Amazon shares remain flat. If they continue to rise, the value of his shares — and his tax savings — will be even higher.Put another way, he’s more than paid for his 417-foot yacht, Koru, with just his Florida tax savings. For his new digs, Bezos purchased two mansions in Indian Creek for $147 million and is reportedly looking at three other properties on the island, which also counts Tom Brady and Carl Icahn as residents

Jeff Bezos sells nearly 12 million Amazon shares worth at least $2 billion, with more to come cnbc.com

So far this month, Jeff Bezos has offloaded about $4bn worth of stock. But the sudden sales do not mean a vote of no confidence in Amazon’s future equity value, writes our Lex team. Instead, look at the transactions by the number of shares sold instead of their dollar value and they appear more conventional. Filings show that Bezos plans to sell up to 50mn Amazon shares by February 2025. At today’s price, this would equal about $8.5bn. Yet, he has made larger sales than this in the past. The stock market is soaring to unprecedented highs, and it feels like the good times are here to stay... But are they really? Let's take a closer look at what the billionaires have been up to lately:→ Jeff Bezos dumped a whopping $8.5M in Amazon stock within just two weeks! → Mark Zuckerberg unloaded $428M of Meta stock like it was going out of style. → Jamie Dimon and his family sold off $150M of JPM, a first for the banking mogul. → The Walton family collectively said goodbye to $4.5B worth of Walmart stock. And it's not just the big guns making moves. → The CEO of Advanced Medical Devices (AMD) sold $20M of her shares in the company. Even some members of Congress are getting in on the action. Alabama senator Tommy Tuberville, who sits on committees ranging from rural developments to military action, got a little birdie telling him to dump quite a bit in February. So, what's the deal? Why are the richest among us selling now? 🤔Are you going to follow the gurus' advice or take a cue from the billionaires' actions? 🧐If you need some guidance, give us a call.✍️ What's your take on this?♻️ Reshare if I got it right.
