How did you come up with the name Half Baked Harvest? One day, when I was 16, my mom and I were hiking together. She was encouraging me to start a food blog since all I did in my free time was cook! She came up with the “half baked” part of our name – because my family is very “half baked”.

I live high up in the mountains of Colorado in Summit County. I live about 20 minutes away from four major ski resorts…but I oddly almost never go skiing (or snowboarding in my case) and instead stay warm and cozy in my kitchen.

On multiple occasions, Gerard has been accused of appropriating and incorrectly making “Asian” recipes. The first of these was a soup recipe that Gerard claimed was Vietnamese Pho, despite using chicken instead of beef for the broth and the whole recipe taking much less time than true, traditional pho.

Half Baked got its name from the fact that the cookie dough in it is unbaked – hence 'dough' – but the fudge brownies are baked. It's literally half baked! Now you can confidently correct your friends who were convinced it was a reference to a certain movie of the same name.

I started this blog in 2012 and have since been featured on The Cooking Channel, Food Network, HGTV, Crate & Barrel, Shape Magazine, Self Magazine, the Huffington Post, and PopSugar, among others.
