These Wonders 1st grade spelling word practice worksheets include the 6 spelling words for the ON LEVEL lists PLUS the additional 2 challenge words on the EXTEND list. You can use the same page for all of your students because the 2 challenge words are indicated with a "*" so you can instruct them to include those words, or not, depending on their level. 1. Students place each of their spelling words in a chilly polar iceberg.
2. Repetition is key! Students write their spelling words three times each.
3. With the alphabet at the top of the page for guidance, students will put their spelling words in ABC order.
4. Students use various colors to write their spelling words over and over in a long, slithery snake.
5. Students will carefully read and identify real and pseudo-versions of their spelling words. They’ll highlight only the correctly spelled words.
6. Students practice creative writing by writing one sentence for each spelling word, while challenging themselves to start each sentence differently.
7. Students practice writing a friendly letter that includes their spelling words, with each section formatted for them.
8. Students decode their spelling words using the secret symbol code at the top of the page. This one is fun!
